Griffin is ONE!
A little over a year ago I got an email from a mom-to-be requesting a newborn session. Before long Little G was here and I got to meet this awesome family of 3. The minute I met them I felt an instant connection. I can't tell you what an honor it has been for me to watch this little guy blossom this past year. I become quite attached to these families that I see so frequently and enjoy seeing *my* babies become little people.
Griffin is in that "wild man" phase. And while it may look like he was still for most of this session-- don't be fooled. I don't know if I've ever worked harder!
He. never. ever. stopped. moving.
But despite the heat, the mosquitoes, and Mr. Speedy- we still were able to capture his sweet spirit.
Thanks A and M for inviting me to be part of the journey! The real fun is only beginning!! :)
with love,
~M

trying to reach me?
If you've left me a voice mail or sent an email I PROMISE I'm working on getting those returned. As most of you know, this is one of the busiest seasons of the year. October and most of November have been booked for weeks and weeks but even so, I still find myself trying to fit in a couple of sessions here and there. I mean, I get these calls from moms saying they have a newborn to 4 month old baby and they realllly want me to do his/her pictures. And they throw in all of these nice comments about my work and I have NO choice but to fit them in :). At that age they don't stop changing just because I'm booked so it's up there on the 'gotta have them done soon' priority list! And to top it off, I think ALL of the newborn sessions that were already on the books for Oct and Nov were born in the last 2 weeks. Seriously, newborns are everywhere! Jan/Feb must have been very cozy months. ;)
I typically take 1-2 days a week to do all of the proofing and other computer/business related work but even those days are being used to shoot sessions. Even during the regular season you can find me working until the wee hours of the morning (think 1 and 2 am) but it has gotten out of control lately (just ask my very understanding husband!). Top that off with Beth (assistant) being out-of-town for the last 2 weeks (she's coming home on Friday-yippee!) and you can begin to see why I'm seriously behind on a lot of proofing and many other things. I know we have some anxious moms (and dads) out there. Just know, I'm working on it all but aside from being a full-time photographer I'm a mom and a wife too- and as much as I love what I do, I love my family more. Do I even need to mention that I had a sick child last night.... you can just see where this is going, right? I just keep telling myself that things will calm down soon.... it will, won't it? Right now I don't know whether to laugh or cry but I am so very thankful for all of my wonderful clients and being able to do something I'm so passionate about.... so I think I'll choose to smile and keep plugging along! :)
This started out just letting everyone that has called/emailed know that I'm working on returning those ASAP but quickly turned in to a novel!
Off to cook dinner, then a soccer game, and finally-- a late night of proofing!

a bridal session...
with my sister! She and her fiancé, Bradley were married on September 29th. It was a gorgeous wedding and they are now happily honeymooning, before returning to reality.
We were able to steal a couple of hours a few weeks ago for a bridal session.
I wish a lifetime of love and happiness for the two of you!
Love you guys,
~M
